Service: Web Development

Advanced Programming Concepts has been doing a lot of Web development over the last three years. We've developed several custom Internet and intranet Web sites and we frequently have a few in the oven. Occasionally, we'll list a site or two on the What's New page. Take a look at our Web Development page to get an idea of the types of features that we can add to your Web site. If you're new to the Web or have never had a company page before, you will love working with us because we are experts in helping you figure out what you want. Service: Web Positioning

If your Web site is designed to be seen by others then making the site is only part of the challenge. The real trick is getting people to visit your site. The Seventh WWW User Survey conducted by the Georgia Institute of Technology demonstrated that nearly 90% of traffic to most Web sites comes from search engines. In order to be a part of this make-or-break traffic, your site MUST be in the top 30 and ideally in the top 10 listings for your selected keywords and search phrases. Tuning a Web site to obtain this level of ranking is truly an art form that few have mastered. Consider this:

Advanced Programming Concepts has the skills to propel your Web site into the major leagues of highly positioned hits in the major search engines. We use top tools to test techniques against top performers and to maintain high positions (highly competitive business categories have to constantly keep on top of their tuned pages because their competition is constantly trying to leapfrogging them in the search engine results.

Because our company usually gets more business than we can handle, we are not interested in carefully tuning this Web site (APCWeb.com) for search engines. But we have been working with other sites. For example, StoreVillage.com is in one of the most competitive arenas on the Web, Internet retailing and virtual malls. We had early successes when began to play around with tuning some of the pages. Look at our results (remember, these results can change daily). Go to the popular search engines, Google, Northern Light, and Yahoo! (select "Web Pages Matches" after entering text) and search for the following key phrases:

Last time we checked, every one of these keyword phrases brought up StoreVillage.com in the #1 ranked position!!!--but they do jump around a lot in the rankings (it's a constant art to keep them ranked high).

Service: Domain Name Registration

Finding the right Domain Name and registering it is very important. Web surfers are quick to spot a professional domain name (e.g., http://www.YourCompany.com) vs. a cheapo, me-too domain name (e.g., http://www.id53.sitehost.com/cheapo/4584/company/index2.htm). The quality of your company is often initially correlated to your domain name. Unless your company has a very rare/unique name, finding a domain name can be difficult. APC has a lot of experience in obtaining domain names and we can help you find and register the right one for your needs.

As far as we know, our contract with VeriSign gives us the lowest domain registration and renewal fees on the Internet. Check out our prices!

Service: PC Desktop Application Development

Advanced Programming Concepts has done a significant amount of custom desktop application development. See our resume for some examples of the work we've done. We specialize in creating applications that you cannot buy off the shelf...or suggesting applications that you can buy off the shelf if you really don't need to pay for custom development.

If you don't have detailed specifications yet, we will help you figure out what you need by first learning what you're currently doing. We are experts in creating efficiency through software. If you need us to, we'll do a thorough analysis of your company (if applicable) and study your current processes and help you determine what your ideal processes should be. Through this process, we will be able to clarify where technology can increase efficiencies (if at all). We can help you determine an ROI (return on investment) so you can justify the development costs via the savings it will provide.

APC can develop standalone systems or networked systems. Networked systems can use a straight file server design or a client-server design for geographically-separated locations.

Of course we will not accept a project unless we feel we can adequately handle the responsibilities that come with it, which may included training and being able to provide support or maintenance services.

Service: Data Conversion Services and Interfaces

Advanced Programming Concepts has a variety of technical tools that can help you convert tables, files, images, audio, video, and other data formats into different formats. And what we don't have, we can develop! Whether it be XML, DBF, HTML, XLS, TXT, DOC, WPD, BMP, JPG, AVI, or dozens of others, we can probably help you convert it.

Do you need to interface one application to another? Depending on the applications involved, we should be able to analyze, design, and develop an interface between the two systems for you. If you need to extract valuable strategic information out of a particular application, we might be able to help you (however, we must be honest and say that it really does depend on the application involved and its process for storing information).

Advanced Programming Concepts is an expert in Microsoft PowerPoint technology. We've developed numerous presentations and templates for companies. Presentations have contained advanced animations, images, graphics, custom designs, audio, video, and a variety of features. Standalone kiosk systems can be created to show your repeating advertisement (many community television stations do this to show their calendar of events along with various advertising pages--many movie theaters use this ability to show ads while the audience is waiting for the feature film to show).
